Starting January 13, 2026, changes are coming to the Disneyland Resort Magic Key annual pass program with a pass type retiring and a new Magic Key Pass type premiering. The Enchant Key pass which is the lowest tier annual pass for non-Southern California residents, will no longer be available for purchase or renewal on or after January 13, 2026. Current Enchant Key holders will still be able to continue using the pass until their pass expiration date. When the pass expires, Enchant Key holders will have the option to renew with a different pass type, including the new Explore Key pass.

The Explore Key pass is an all-new Magic Key pass type debuting on January 13, 2026. The new pass will allow holders to explore the parks on select dates during each season, including summer dates (which has mostly been blocked out for Enchant Key holders). The Explore Key will be priced at $999 and will offer similar benefits to the Enchant Key that it is replacing. Benefits include:

  • Reservation-based Park Hopper admission with an ability to hold up to 4 theme park reservations at a time
  • Up to 10% off select merchandise and dining
  • 25% off parking at the Toy Story Parking area
  • 25% off the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass

The primary difference between the Enchant Key and the all-new Explore Key will be the option of visiting the theme parks on select dates that were previously blocked out for the former pass type.

If you are new to the Disneyland Magic Key annual pass program and would like to compare the different passes, read my blog “Is a Disneyland Magic Key Pass Right for You?” to figure out which pass is right for you. And, even though this article was published before the announcement of the Explore Key, you can still compare your options since the new new key type will offer similar benefits as the Enchant Key.
