The holidays are just around the corner and the Disneyland Resort is preparing another magical holiday season. The festivities will kick off on November 15, 2024 and run through January 6, 2025.
Upcoming Holiday Experiences
Fantasyland Theatre Activities
This holiday season, Santa Claus and select Disney characters will meet and greet guests at the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland Park. There will also be cookie decorating, craft making, storytelling and atmospheric music throughout the day at the theatre.
More Santa Appearances
Santa Claus will also make an appearance at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure Park, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place Hotel through December 24. Plus he will make an appearance in the finale of A Christmas Fantasy Parade at Disneyland Park each day. Wow! He is going to be really busy this year!
New Character Holiday Costumes
At Disneyland Park, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse along with Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Clarabelle Cow, Goofy and Chip ‘n Dale will debut new holiday costumes, reminiscent of writing warm letters to loved ones during the holidays.
Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail
Debuting this year at Downtown Disney District will be Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail pursuit. This experience will be similar to the annual Eggstravaganza in the Spring and Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit during Halloween Time. During the pursuit, participants will search for special ornaments hidden among the holiday trees and shining lights around Downtown Disney District after purchasing an activity map at one of the select merchandise locations listed below. As with the other pursuits throughout the year, partipants can redeem the map for a collectible holiday keepsake at World of Disney or Disney’s Pin Traders. This new experience will start on November 22, 2024 and run through January 1, 2025 (or while supplies last).

Holiday Treats
For the Disney foodies, holiday-themed food and beverages will be available throughout the Disneyland Resort during the holiday season. The official Disney Eats Foodie Guide will be available soon with more details about what treats and novelties will be available around the resort. As a sneak peak, we do know that the Mickey Gingerbread and the Holiday stainless steel tumbler will be returning this year.
Character Dining
Two character dining options will be available during the holiday season at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort. Beginning November 19, Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays! will delight guests at Disneyland Hotel. And, Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party breakfast and brunch at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will be a new character dining experience serving holiday-themed food. Select characters will make an appearance during the dining experience donning holiday-themed pajamas.
New Holiday Merchandise
New holiday merchandise this year will include a Mickey Mouse Family Christmas collection and a Holiday Red and Snowman collection. Guests will find the new holiday merchandise at World of Disney, Emporium, Elias & Co. and other shopping locations around the Disneyland Resort.
Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Guided Tour
Guests will have an opportunity to hear holiday stories about Walt and the Disney family during the Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Guided Tour at the Disneyland Resort. This 2.5 hour walking tour also includes a ride on “it’s a small world” Holiday, reserved viewing for A Christmas Fantasy Parade and delicious holiday treats. Reservations for the guided tour will be available to purchase on the Disneyland website closer to the beginning of the holiday season.
Hotels of the Disneyland Resort
All three Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will feature festive fun, including a massive gingerbread house inspired by pastries and candies on display at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Pixar Place Hotel will feature all-new holiday décor. And, the hotels will also have special activities and entertainment during the holidays including festive in-room celebrations available for purchase.
Relaxing Holiday Comfort
Tenaya Stone Spa at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will offer an Underneath the Tree Signature Massage and Warmth of Holiday Foot Treatment during the holiday season for relaxing comfort.
Disneyland Park Nighttime Spectacular
“Believe…In Holiday Magic” nighttime spectacular will be performed nightly at Disneyland Park with fireworks and projections. And the traditional snowfall experience will be expanded to include the Rivers of America, outside of “it’s a small world” Holiday, and the west end of Downtown Disney along with Main Street, U.S.A.
Disney California Adventure Park Nighttime Spectacular
“World of Color – Season of Light” returns to Disney California Adventure Park during the holiday season. The nighttime spectacular will be performed nightly in Paradise Bay.
Seasonal Overlays
Select attractions seasonal overlays are returning this year. The returning attractions include “it’s a small world” Holiday, Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree. These are in addition to Haunted Mansion Holiday which has already opened at Disneyland Park.
Festival of Holidays
Disney Festival of Holidays returns to Disney California Adventure Park with a scannable Sip and Savor Pass available for purchase with the option of a four-coupon or eight-coupon version.
Mickey’s Happy Holidays
Mickey’s Happy Holidays cavalcade returns to Disney California Adventure Park with iconic Disney & Pixar characters dancing along the parade route to the beat of festive holiday music.
Disney ¡Viva Navidad!
Disney ¡Viva Navidad! returns to Paradise Gardens at Disney California Adventure Park with festivities including daily crafts, live music, special menu items, character meet & greets and décor inspired by Latin American traditions. Guests will have an opprtunity to meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy in their Disney ¡Viva Navidad! costumes along with The Three Caballeros and Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto.
The Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party is also returning to Paradise Gardens but only on the weekends. The street party show features The Three Caballeros accompanied by Mexican folklórico dancers and mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers and percussionists. Mickey & Minnie Mouse make a special appearance for the finale of each street party show.
During the weekdays when Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party is not scheduled, guests may encounter Mirabel from Disney Animation’s Encanto or Miguel from Pixar Animation Studios’ Coco in festive street performances that celebrate the holidays.
Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party will only be performed on November 16, 17, 23, 24, 30; December 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29 and January 4, 5.
